Gurdwara Sahib Expansion

In recent years we have seen an increase in the Calgary Sikh sangat. We feel it is important to expand the Gurdwara in order to better serve the its visitors. The plan is to expand the Gurdwara Sahib from the front and the sides.

The shoe area which is currently inside will be moved to the outside in front of the Gurdwara Sahib. It will become a part of the building from the front. The sides of the Gurdwara Sahib will be expand in order to provide more space for our visitors. Other minor renovations inside the Gurdwara Sahib will also be taking place.

Expansion of Current Dashmesh Culture Centre site with the generous assistance of the Alberta Government will provide a project with lasting impact to the NE Community. With the expansion, many more construction jobs will be created along with more permanent paid positions at DCC. The great impact of this project will be the benefit to social programs in the NE area. Our target for expansion is to create more space within our Centre to accommodate mental health and many more social programs to assist those in need.

Along with giving us more capacity to serve more of the community, we will be able to have professionals on-site in dedicated state of the art spaces to provide counselling and help services for the vulnerable in our community. This will have a great impact of assistance to the community and provide a hub for all those who seek help. Dashmesh Culture Centre intends to be the leader in social programs for the NE Calgary Area.
